THE third Together Beat Cancer (TBC) event is set to kick off again next week at Buff Club with a fantastic line up of musical talent.
The idea of TBC came from Glasgow brothers Ken and Malcolm Love who lost their mother Margery to cancer in 1993. And the boys' have done her proud with two immensely successful TBC events which have raised £9000 for Scottish cancer charities.
Next Friday (May 28) sees the introduction of two part musical feast 'Dusk To Dawn' which is set to feature musicians from all genres including pop, folk and hip hop. Gracing the stage on Friday will be acts such as Admiral Fallow and Louise McVey.
Featuring at the 'Dawn' event on Saturday (May 29), music lovers will get the chance to enjoy the music of acts such as Heather Downie (Solo Harp) and Alan McKim.
The concept of the event reflects Maggie’s Centres purpose in guiding cancer sufferers and their families from the darkness & uncertainty of diagnosis to the light of an empowered future.
TBC – Together Beat Cancer’s purpose is to promote the best in contemporary, grassroots Scottish music through a series of live music events. By working with relevant partners within the Scottish music scene TBC have run both successful and credible events with all profits bequeathed to cancer projects within Scotland. Previous events have contributed towards equipment for the Beatson Oncology Unit, Bearsden, and breast cancer research at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.
Organiser, Ken Love, said: “Together Beat Cancer was started for very personal reasons and I’m thrilled that so many amazing artists have come together to help TBC raise funds and awareness of Maggie’s Centre’s who help anyone affected by cancer. It promises to be a great and unique event and I hope people will come along to show their support for the bands and the cause.”
