With Christmas having just passed, there’s no let up for East Kilbride YM as they prepare for a hectic schedule between now and the New Year.
Beginning tomorrow (Thursday), the club have a packed timetable with football games, functions and fundraisers organised during the holiday period.
YM take on a strong Dalziel FP side in a friendly on Thursday, December 27 at the Toryglen Football Centre, with a 7.15pm kick off, in a game which should keep them ticking over before the New Year.
The following night looks to be a busy evening with tickets going well for the YM Christmas Night at the Village Steakhouse above Legends.
There are limited tickets at £20 remaining for the evening, which includes a four course meal and entertainment set to go on until the early hours of the morning.
Meanwhile the annual YM ‘Old Crocks’ New Year event, which is in its 76th year, goes ahead on January 2 at K Park.
YM’s Caledonian side will take on the Scottish Amateur and Greater Glasgow side at 11am with the YM Old Crocks playing an East Kilbride Football Club Select at 1pm, in what should be another start spotting event.
Last season, the likes of broadcaster Angus Deayton and former football stars Jackie McNamara, Tosh McKinlay and Charlie Miller lined up against the Old Crocks to mark their 75th anniversary and fans of the club will be hoping for a similar line-up this time around.
YM’s sponsor, Mark Horner of Legends, will once again lay on hospitality for players, coaches and spectators back at Legends after both games, where a few old war stories will no doubt be exchanged. Those coming along should contact Allan Cunningham on 07867 905921.
Mark has also generously booked a 50-seater coach to take supporters through to the 5th round Scottish Cup tie against current Scottish Cup holders Hurlford Thistle on Saturday, January 12.
The coach will leave Legends at noon and if you are interested you should contact Graeme Robertson on 07557 507713 to confirm your seat.
The coach will be returning to Legends after the game and will return from Kilmarnock around 4.45pm.
