Householders in Aberdeenshire are being asked to sort their rubbish into as many as seven bins and other containers as part of efforts to boost recycling, a survey has revealed.
The Taxpayers' Alliance, which carried out the research, said having to sort rubbing into numerous bins "often frustrates" householders, even if they are keen to recycle, and it compared the situation to that in Dumfries and Galloway where just one bin is collected.
According to its UK-wide research, on average councils expect residents to sort their household waste into four bins, bags and caddies.
