Report slams bed sore patient care

A hospital has been criticised after a 79-year-old patient, who later died, developed the "worst case of pressure sores" a health watchdog advisor had seen.

One sore at the base of the man's back was 2.5 inches wide and one inch deep after he had knee surgery in Glasgow's Southern General hospital.

The unnamed man died six months later, having failed to recover from his surgery.
