Election separation Bill passed

Council elections will no longer be held on the same day as Holyrood elections after legislation was passed by MSPs.

However MSPs are worried it may reduce the number of people voting in local government elections.

Parliamentary Business Minister Bruce Crawford said the Scottish Government is working with others to look at tackling this potential problem.
