Police hunt two sex attackers

POLICE are hunting two sex attackers after a teenage girl and 43-year-old woman were indecently assaulted.

The victims have been left traumatised by the two separate early morning incidents which happened the past two Fridays between 7.30 and 7.50am.

Police are currently trying to track down the men responsible for carrying out the indecent assaults on the innocent victims.

The first assault took place on Friday, December 2 at around 7.30am. The 43-year-old victim was making her way along Eaglesham Road when she was approached from behind by a young man who indecently assaulted her.

Her attacker is described as white European, aged between 20 and 26, 5ft 6in and of medium build. He has short dark brown hair and was wearing a grey hoody and black trousers.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward and are also keen to speak to two passers-by who stopped to see that the victim was okay following the incident.

The next attack took place one week later, on Friday, December 9 at 7.50am.

The 15-year-old victim was walking along Westwood Road, near to Vancouver Drive, which is just minutes from the area the first attack took place when she too was approached and indecently assaulted.

Her attacker is described as being aged 45-49 years of age, white European, 5ft 8in and of slim build.

He was wearing a high visibility jacket with a hood which would have made him noticeable to anyone who was in the area at the time.

Constable Tom Skelton of East Kilbride Police said: “Neither of the victims required any hospital treatment, however, they have both been left badly shaken following the incidents, which is understandable.

“We are very keen to hear from anyone who many have witnessed either of the incidents or who thinks they know the identity of the attackers based on the descriptions.
