THIS week kicks off our new feature, Band of the Week, with the first lucky winners being Captain SIB.
Hamilton psychedelic rockers Captain SIB also win free rehearsal time, courtesy of Gargleblast rehearsal studios in Burnbank.
Our Thoughts: Incorporating different genres with touches of indie and a large dash of soft rock.
Captain SIB are a great concoction of excellent vocals by Stuart and beautifully crafted tunes.
The band’s album, ‘Saints and Sibbers’ and is due out this christmas.
Background : Captain SIB was started in 1999 by Stuart Ireland, Iain Fraser and Billy Mushet.
They recorded many songs over the years but it wasn’t until 2007 that they actually found the time to take the project more seriously.
In 2009, they wrote and recorded their first official EP titled, Two Worlds, which was made available to the public through the internet. By April of 2010 they had got their music onto Lanarkshire L107 radio.
Members: Stuart Ireland, Iain Fraser and Billy Mushet.
Future Plans: Release the album, build the content for the website and try and progress the shows onto normal radio.
Influences: Hawkwind, Porcupine Tree, Pink Floyd, Frank Zappa, Drive-by Truckers, Iron Maiden.
