POLICE are investigating an unusual theft of equipment from premises in East Kilbride.
A large industrial washing machine and two industrial tumble dryers with a total value of around £6000 have been stolen in a break-in at a factory on Kelvin Industrial estate.
The break-in at Now Smart Services (DB Utilities Limited) in Colville Place happened between 5pm on Friday, July 10, and 7.15am on Monday, July 13, while the premises were closed for the weekend.
Police investigating the theft of the equipment said that the thieves managed to force open the shutters and break into the premises by forcing the main door.
Officers say the washing machine and tumble drivers are extremely heavy and cumbersome, therefore a large vehicle would have had to have been used to transport them.
Anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious around this time is asked to contact East Kilbride Police Office on 01355 564000 or alternatively, Crimestoppers on the free and confidential number 0800 555 111.
There may be a reward paid following a successful arrest and conviction of the people involved.
