It’s food for thought as farmers’ market brings 30 stalls and best of produce

SCOTLAND’S newest farmers’ market is opening in East Kilbride on Sunday, June 7.

Over 30 stalls will be offering the freshest produce directly from farm to your plate every month.

The colourful array of locally grown goodies available will include everything from Aberdeen Angus beef and organic poultry to Galloway lamb, cheese and home baking.

The market will be open from noon until 4pm and will then occur on the first Sunday of every month, accommodating a core of regular traders as well as a variety of guest traders on each visit.

The market will be held in the car park to the rear of The Byre, Eaglesham Road near Hairmyres.

Staff from The Byre will also be dishing up food from their BBQ.

The market is an ideal way to support local producers and will also give the residents of East Kilbride access to the highest quality of fresh, locally sourced produce.
