AN East Kilbride playgroup has been praised in a report by Her Majesty’s Inspectors.
In the report released this week, the inspectors said they were impressed by the opportunities for children to play together and make friends, the range of outings in the wider community, the productive relationships with parents and the care and committment of staff to improving the playgroup at Kiwi Pre-School Playgroup in West Mains.
However, the inspectors made some suggestions for improvements.
These included improving the way the playgroup monitors and evaluates children’s learning experiences, developing the approaches to support and extend children’s learning during play and to continue to improve learning opportunities in early literacy and mathematics.
The report stated: “We are confident that the centre will be able to make the necessary improvements in light of the inspection findings.
“As a result, we will make no more visits in connection with this inspection.
“The centre and the education authority will inform parents about the centre’s progress in improving the quality of education.”
